Cut-to-Size orders are currently taking 2 to 3 days (Monday-Friday) to process

Cut to size orders are cut with table and CNC panel saws and have a cut tolerance of +/- 1/32". Plastic sheets have a thickness tolerance of +/- 10% and can have thickness variations throughout the sheet. Cut to size items cannot be returned for a refund or exchange.

Sheet sizes, colors, thicknesses and products available on our website are available at TAP Plastics stores.

ACRYLITE® OP-3 UV Filtering Acrylic Sheets – Crystal Clear UV Protection for Artwork and Displays

Protect your valuable artwork, photos, documents, and displays from the irreversible damage caused by ultraviolet light with ACRYLITE® OP-3 UV Filtering Acrylic Sheets, available from TAP Plastics. Unlike ordinary acrylic or glass, ACRYLITE OP-3 is specially formulated to block approximately 98% of harmful UV rays between 320–380 nanometers, the primary cause of fading, yellowing, and deterioration of paper, textiles, and pigments.

Why Choose ACRYLITE OP-3?
Unmatched UV Protection
Built-in UV-filtering performance—not just a surface coating—ensures lasting defense against both natural sunlight and artificial light sources like halogen and fluorescent bulbs.

Exceptional Optical Clarity & Lightweight
ACRYLITE OP-3 offers glass-like clarity with virtually no optical distortion. The sheets are also about half the weight of glass and 10–20 times more impact resistant, making them safer and easier to handle in museums, galleries, retail displays, and homes.

Easy to Fabricate & Install
OP-3 acrylic can be cut, routed, drilled, or thermoformed using the same techniques you’d use with standard acrylic sheets. That means you can create custom glazing, enclosures, and protective covers with minimal effort.

Available in Multiple Options for Any Application

  • OP-3 Clear: Classic UV-filtering sheet with a crystal-clear finish.

  • OP-3 AR1 Clear: Same UV protection, plus an abrasion- and chemical-resistant coating on one side, ideal for high-traffic public areas or displays requiring frequent cleaning.

  • OP-3 P99 Non-Glare: A soft matte finish on one side reduces reflections and glare without compromising clarity when mounted directly on images. Perfect for galleries, offices, or any space with strong sunlight.

Popular Uses:

  • Museum-quality framing and conservation glazing

  • Display cases and protective covers

  • Archival storage and document protection

  • Retail signage and point-of-purchase displays

  • UV-filtering windows and barriers in offices or homes

Technical Highlights:

  • UV Filtering: Blocks ~98% of UV light while maintaining high visible light transmission

  • Impact Resistance: 10–20x stronger than glass

  • Weight: Approximately 50% lighter than glass

  • Surface Options: Crystal-clear gloss, abrasion-resistant, or non-glare matte

  • Fabrication: Easily machined and cemented for custom projects

  • Sizes & Thicknesses: Cut-to-Order to your chosen length and width. Sheets available in 1/8" thickness.

How UV Light Damages Your Displays:
Unprotected materials exposed to UV radiation suffer chemical bond breakdown in cellulose fibers and pigments, leading to brittleness, fading, and yellowing over time. ACRYLITE OP-3 stops this process before it starts, helping preserve the vibrancy and structural integrity of your most important pieces.

Experience the Difference:
Whether you’re a professional framer, museum curator, designer, or simply want to safeguard your artwork and memorabilia, ACRYLITE OP-3 Acrylic Sheets provide the ultimate in UV protection, clarity, and durability.
