Fiberglass Fabric Supplies

Are you searching for a sturdy material to use in composite construction or DIY boat repair? If so, you have come to the right place. TAP Plastics is the premier destination for fiberglass fabrics and tapes that strike the perfect balance between economy and strength. Fiberglass is a composite material that is made from woven glass filaments. Not only is this textile affordable, but it is also easy to handle and maintain. We offer a wide variety of cloths, weaves, and materials for you to choose from, so you are sure to find the best solution for your particular set of needs. Whether you are looking for transparency or superior strength, we have all your needs covered in our selection.

Why Should I Use Fiberglass?

Compared to other materials, fiberglass fabric sets the industry standard for cost-effectiveness, functionality, and other specialized properties. Consisting of plastic reinforced with glass fibers, fiberglass cloth has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is very stable. It also is waterproof and fireproof; this makes it a common choice as a fire curtain or covering, such as in areas where tools are giving off sparks. Finally, fiberglass has excellent chemical and abrasion resistance so your construction or repair work will be durable.

Best Collection of Fiberglass Fabrics

Our selection includes E-glass, S-2 glass, and multiple types of tape. We carry lightweight, midweight, standard, and heavyweight cloths made from strands of continuous glass filaments that are plied and twisted into yarn. With a standard chrome finish (Volan), all the boat cloths we carry are suitable with polyester, vinyl-ester, and epoxy resins. Our modified twill is ideally suited to complex shapes because it has excellent draping ability. Deck cloth may be better suited to applications in which transparency is important. If you would like to avoid a resin-rich laminate on your boat, our woven roving cloth may be the best solution.

S-2 glass is slightly stronger and stiffer than E-glass, making it popular for surfboards, windsurfing boards, or anything where a high strength-to-weight ratio is required. Between two kinds of glass cloth, you can meet the needs of whatever project awaits you. In addition to fiberglass fabrics, we also offer an array of fiberglass tapes that can be used for glass seams, repairing broken masts, or reinforcing other laminates throughout the automotive or aviation industries.

No matter what kind of application you have in mind, we can help you find the best fabric reinforcement for a competitive price. Our fiberglass materials are available custom-cut by the yard or in large rolls for commercial projects. Please contact us today at info@tapplastics.com with any questions or concerns.
